The USDA Project that Connected Spatial Data to Vineyard Management

Productive vineyards now and in the future will use spatial sensor data and directed sampling to generate meaningful soil, canopy, and crop information. Vineyard managers will use this multi-layer spatial vineyard information to make integrated management decisions that best fit their viticulture, environmental, and economic goals. Variable-rate management will be applied and evaluated through the marriage of spatial prescription maps with vineyard mechanization equipment.

The Efficient Vineyard project team has demonstrated that the spatial-data driven vineyard is possible now (watch this summary video).
