Serge Guillaume has been with Irstea, the French National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture, since 1984. He worked for several years in the field of image analysis and data processing applied to the food industry processes. He received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Toulouse, France, in 2001. He has been involved in the development of fuzzy inference system design and optimization methods, which are available in FisPro, an open source software. The goal is to provide both interpretable, by a human expert, and accurate systems. In the field of information fusion, he has been working with fuzzy measures and fuzzy integrals, like the Choquet integral. His current interests include the design of sampling and clustering algorithms as well as decision support systems based on georeferenced data that are implemented in GeoFIS, an open source software.
